Lipoma removal

Lipomas are harmless growths of fatty tissue on any part of the body. They vary in size and can be small like a pea or large like an orange.

They can grow anywhere in the body where there are fat cells, but are often seen on the shoulders, neck, chest, arms, back, buttocks and thighs.

If they cause symptoms, they can be removed. In some cases, they may have grown like a branch and can be cauterised. Most often, however, they need to be surgically removed.
