Why treat excess hair?

Many people, particularly women, suffer from excessive hair on the face or body.

Excess hair growth, or hirsutism, may mean hair growing in places where men have a lot of hair but women don’t. This includes the upper lip, chin, chest, and back. Hirutism is caused by an excess of male hormones called androgens, and is common when a woman suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or disorders of the pituitary gland, adrenal gland, or thyroid gland.

Of course, you may not suffer from hirsutism, but simply be concerned about having too much hair, or hair in the wrong places. Luckily, laser hair removal is a safe and effective treatment to permanently remove unwanted hair.
