Why treat dull skin?

As we age, our skin naturally loses radiance and becomes dull. Dull skin is often described as skin that has lost its brightness and looks grey in appearance. As we age, this can become a common skin complaint. The natural decrease in cell turnover can cause a build-up of dead skin cells and a dull-looking complexion.

The natural aging process produces lines and wrinkles, age spots, splotches and pigmentation problems, broken capillaries, dull skin texture and colour, and other skin flaws. Sun damage compounds the aging process. Ultraviolet light from the sun penetrates not only the outer layer of skin but also those layers underneath which fortify the skin and lend it resilience.

Anti-aging creams and topical products are usually used to treat the milder symptoms of aging such as damage to the skin’s uppermost layers. It is important to protect the skin from damage whilst also encouraging cell turnover by wearing an SPF daily.

Although it is not possible to turn back the hands of time, the effects of ageing can be dramatically slowed down and improved with the arsenal of procedures and techniques available at our centre.
