Why treat moles?

Most moles are benign or non-cancerous, but because there is always a possibility that a mole is cancerous, it is best to get medical advice if you notice a mole that suddenly changes in size, shape or colour, bleeds, itches, or becomes painful.

You may find several different types of moles on your body:

  • Flat moles are considered as any dark spot or irregularity in the skin.
  • Raised moles can be a variety of colours and may run deeper into the dermal layers than flat moles.
  • Skin tags are small skin-coloured growths that generally have small stalks and are usually painless.

Mole removal surgery and recovery generally is simple. Should you want a benign mole removed for cosmetic reasons, you can book treatment with one of our surgeons. We will check your mole to ensure biopsy is not necessary, discuss the recommended procedure and costs, recovery time, likely outcomes, and any risks and complications.
